The risk of changing platform.

Changing platform, domain or URL structure is when the most organic traffic is lost. A badly planned migration can lose a good part of your rankings: URLs that had links break, content disappears and crawling gets blocked by accident. All of that can be avoided if it is prepared.

Our process.

1. Inventory before migrating

We list all current URLs with traffic, links and sales, so we know what needs protecting.

2. Redirect map

Every old URL points to its equivalent in the new store through a 301 redirect, with no chains or loops.

3. Testing in a staging environment

We review the new store before opening it: titles, canonicals, structured data, speed, and that it is blocked to search engines until launch.

4. Launch and monitoring

On the day of the switch we check redirects, sitemap and Search Console, and we monitor the first few months to fix drops in time.

When it makes sense.

Before choosing a platform, ask yourself how much organic traffic you have and how much it is worth. If your store lives off sales from Google, the migration needs to be planned well in advance. If you are moving to Shopify or WooCommerce, also see Shopify SEO agency and WooCommerce SEO agency.

What it costs.

You start with the Pro audit (€290), which we deduct if you move to a monthly plan: Growth, €1,200 a month, or Scale, €2,500 a month for large or multilingual catalogues. No lock-in, and prices exclude VAT. See what each plan includes.

Frequently asked questions

Do you always lose traffic when migrating?

Not necessarily. Some fluctuation at the start is normal, but with a URL inventory, correct redirects and monitoring it is kept to a minimum.

When should I let you know?

As early as possible, ideally before choosing a platform or before the developer starts. That is when the most can be avoided.

Do you work with my developer?

Yes. We give them the redirect map and the checklist, and we review the result before and after launch.
